"Art can speak where words fail. My paintings are based on my response to nature. I develop this bond with nature through the
medium of watercolour. The vast expanse of land appears to be communicating with the rest of the elements of nature of which
man is a significant par t. The blank spaces in my paintings reveal the beginning of life on ear th. Man too nourishes nature in his
own way. The varied colour compositions signify the tides of life and man and nature are like two sides of the same coin".

Bikash Poddar...

Born in 1954 at Kaliyaganj, Nor th Bengal; Bikash Poddar studied at the College of Art and Craft, Kolkata to complete his five years diploma in Applied Ar t with a gold medal. This was followed by a long stint of jobs in adver tising agencies at Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Delhi as a Designer and Ar t Director. He turned to painting full time in the nineties, following the success of his shows of watercolours held in Delhi, Mumbai and other metros. He has shown his work in nearly 25 solo and group shows in various cities of India par ticipating in a couple of workshops. His work has also been exhibited abroad. His works are with collectors and corporate houses in Delhi, Mumbai, USA, Hongkong, Canada, Australia and Singapore besides other places.
